| Telling the stories, driving the roads, seeing the trees. Hi! I bet you think that driving around to different country towns like Echuca, Kyabrum, Rochester and telling stories is lots of fun. Well, guess what? You're right. It was! It was busy fun though. At each of the branch libraries of the Campaspe Regional Library Service - Kyabram, Tongala, Rushworth and Rochester and Echuca - I both told stories and made up some new ones with the help of the children and adults in the audience. As you can see if you've read any, the stories we made up were all about the different towns that I visited. They're all quite different stories because there were different people in the audiences and they had different ideas and the places where the stories were set were different as well. That is something that I think is really important. I believe that we should all tell stories about our places - the animals that live there, the people, the trees, everything. That way, we're much more likely to look after our places. Here's a challenge for you. If you haven't already read the stories from Campaspe read one. Then pick one of the animals or trees that are mentioned in the stories and think about a time you saw one of them near your place. Tell the story or write it down or do a drawing and share it with a friend or family. If you would like to send me a copy of one of your stories to publish on one of my web sites please feel free. mail@storytell.com.au Like to see some photo's from some of the storytelling shows held on the 7th & 8 th January 2004. Now if you've been reading the stories you've probably noticed that some of the stories have illustrations and some don't. If you would like to send me a felt pen, drawing, painting or photograph to add to the stories that don't already have some, please, please, please, please, please, please do so. Here's how -
